Life Workshop (Evangelism)

Details: Sunday, May 5th from 1-3PM in the South MPR (4364 Valley Fair Street)

This is the first of a two-part workshop exploring the topics of Evangelism and Apologetics (defending the faith). This first workshop focuses on the fundamentals and practical application of evangelism in relationship. We will discuss what evangelism is, what it is not, and why it is important. We will provide specific information and direction about what the gospel is and how to share it. There will be plenty of time for open dialogue, Q&A, and maybe even a bit of role playing. This workshop is very accessible and intended for everyone. So, come and invite others, whether you are young or old, new to Christianity or a long-time follower of Christ.

Life Workshop (Apologetics)

Details: Sunday, May 19th from 1-3PM in the South MPR (4364 Valley Fair Street)

This is the second of a two-part workshop exploring the topics of Evangelism and Apologetics (defending the faith). This “Apologetics” workshop is for those that want to dive deeper into the philosophy, methodology, and application of defending the faith. We will begin by addressing what apologetics is as distinct from evangelism and why it is important both inside and outside of the church. This will include a brief comparison of the three main apologetic methodologies – Classical, Evidential, and Presuppositional. We will spend most of our time laying out a framework for how we as Christians should respond Biblically to objections raised from various worldviews and other religions (i.e. atheism, agnosticism, empiricism, post-modern relativism, spiritualism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness, etc.) that say things like, “There is no objective truth! Science and evolution prove Christianity false! All religions worship the same god! I am “spiritual,” so I don’t need church! I am “good person,” so I don’t need Jesus! How do you know the Bible is true?”

This workshop is designed for those seeking and asking questions about faith and Christianity. Following a brief gospel presentation the floor will be open to live dialogue provoking and addressing questions and/or objections wherein there are no “off-limit” topics. (e.g. Don’t all religions worship the same god? I am “spiritual” why do I need church? How do we know the Bible is true? Doesn’t science and evolution prove Christianity false?) All are welcome, both inside and especially outside of Cornerstone, so please invite your friends, family, neighbors… anyone that you would like to have hear the gospel and/or has questions or objections regarding the Faith. Join us and watch evangelism in a live setting.
