Abide (Post College to mid 30's)
"To give everyone an accurate picture of God by helping those who believe become fully devoted followers of Christ”
Abide meets corporately on the 1st & 3rd Fridays of each month – 7:00pm in Room 12 @ Cornerstone Church. We also meet informally at other times throughout the month. Check out our facebook page if you would like more info, event dates, or prayer.
At Abide, we strive to know and to be known by God & His love, so that we may love others. Without Christ, we cannot mature or bear fruit (John 15:4), so we teach others to abide in Him, just as we ourselves are abiding in Him, and in the expectancy of His return.
We are truly a family united in Christ. We are not a social gathering for entertainment, nor a dating service. Our desire is that we would each contribute to building a community that welcomes outsiders into a true family of love without ulterior motives. We hope to sharpen one another as we spur one another on to hunger and thirst for righteousness. We desire for each individual of Abide to be able to say, “Follow me as I follow Christ"
As a ministry there is six aspects of life we are committed to:
Discipleship
This is our great commission. We speak through, and walk with everyone to grow, live, display, and mobilize true loving discipleship in Christ. - Matthew 28:19
Service (Within the Church & Local/Global Missions)
As singles, we have the unique freedom and responsibility to be single-mindedly devoted to Christ. Therefore, we are a ministry dedicated to being faithful to serving the body of Christ and those who do not believe in order to show the love and hope we have in Christ. - 1 Peter 4:10
Connecting
For those who are new, or want to get plugged into other ministries, we spur each other on and want to help you do just that… 1 Corinthians 12:12-26
Prayer
Prayer is absolutely fundamental to everything we do. God has asked us to do what only He can do. Therefore, being blessed and dependent upon God is and how we are a ministry that loves and honors our Father, Lord, and Savior, and each other. – 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18
Event Outreach
In addition to being a ministry that is dedicated to serving the body of Christ, we also have a heart to reach those who do not know our amazing Father, Lord, and Savior, and introduce them to Him. Therefore, we are committed to being intentional with all events & activities to invite, include, reach out to, and love our family, friends, strangers, and enemies for Christ. – Matthew 5:16
Elder/Mentor Involvement
As a ministry of Cornerstone church, we submit to their leadership, and are actively involved with the entire local body of Cornerstone. Therefore, we walk side by side and with the elders and leadership of Cornerstone. – Hebrews 13:17
